Risheehat Estate, 2nd Flush (Darjeeling)

I usually drink blends, so I wasn't sure what to expect from a single-estate loose leaf, but the floral-fruity notes really come through in the second flush. Steeped it at 90°C for about three minutes and got almost no bitterness, just that soft nutty finish.

The muscatel note in this 2nd flush is exactly what I look for in a Darjeeling, and it comes through clean without any bitterness if you steep it around three minutes. Floral and a little fruity on the finish, maybe a faint nuttiness too. My weekend mornings are better for it.

I've been drinking Darjeeling for years, and this 2nd flush actually delivers that muscatel thing people always talk about. Steeped it for about three minutes and got a clean cup with a nutty finish, no bitterness at all. Already ordered a second bag.
